Just got one!
What nice range, features, and aperture for that money, eh?
The only downside is that there's a 3 mpixel camera attached to it ;-)
Yes, I just received my the S1 "pocket" camera. Almost dropped it putting in the batteries; that would have been a short-lived purchase. I bought this rather than the Panasonic I had really wanted because of 1) the noise even at low ISO in the panasonic, and 2) having to carry yet another type of batteries and charger (I already have to carry AA's because of my kids cameras).
Played with it just a bit. The IS feature and range are neat. I'll have to see how sharp they look later... |

| I want one, too. I've recommended many of these to others, and I think I'd use it more than my G5 as a second camera. I'd just have to get used to the half-shutter press again or the shutter lag would drive me bonkers. |

I was looking at that, at least playing, shutter lag seemed minimal. But I'll let you know after the holidays whether I'm still impressed. I'll be taking it skiing...much better than carrying my Rebel!

| Yeah, it's minimal (like the G5), but it's there. Any shutter lag is an irritation when you're used to a DSLR. |

My Panasonic Lumix FZ3 should arrive tomorrow. $289.99 after $50.00 rebate with a separate 10% back on a gift card from Circuit City and 128Mb SD card from Panasonic website.
12X zoom at f2.8 baby with IS too :)
3.1 megapixel :(
