Good theme and hope it comes round again.

If it does, are we allowed to use the ribboners in this challenge as inspirations?

I had my heart set on one shot, Eddy G's Snowflakes, but they always melted before I could capture them or get good focus.
Outtakes:

this, of course, pales in comparision to the original:

so I quit that idea pretty quickly

Edit: I got a better idea and it's doing pretty well at 6.5 with 3 good comments (including the original artist - who approves)

Tried for a different approach on this, using a ribbon winner as inspiration and trying to come up with my version.
Kinda backfiring on me...as I see most went for a recognisable version of the original....oh well, good luck to all.

Have suspicion my shot, which also follow that precept, isn't doing so well either - there certainly isn't the number of comments to suggest it's doing well.

It is, however, highly flattering to have four versions of shots of mine in there :-)

I hope other photographers see it that way, too (as flattering). I certainly didn't mean to offend the original artist and gained a greater appreciation of his ability in the process.

what, all four? or did you mean flatulent, in addition to flattering? ;)

My outtake. I had already entered it, then decided to try something else. Judging by my current score of 5.8548, I think I probably made the right choice.
