Water, Boat and Log
1 What do u think of them?

3 In what way could I improve on them?

This is just my opinion: the pictures are too dark and not sharp, the second one is interesting but I don't like the tilt toward the left. Did you try tripod and bracketing? What ISO did you use?

water and boat waz on a tripod - log waz handheld
the ISO waz on auto
Boat - ISO 200
Log - ISO 320
Water - ISO - 250
What ISO do u recommend for such shots? |

I don't think the ISO setting is the big issue. Particularlu with boat, i think it might benefit from some "dynamic range extending" For both log and water, I would have suggested a tripod, shoot at ISO 50 or 100 and lengthen the exposure slightly. The biggest problem is that they are just a little dim, with very little shadow detail. |

Thanks for the advice, next time I go out I will follow your suggestions and see what I come out with - I might also try to a bit of photoshop on them to see if I can bring out more colour and depth, I will also reshoot soon since its only a 5 min drive from my home ...
bought new tripod yesterday :) |
