I have seen a number of posts that speak of losing comments when a picture is deleted from the portfolio. I would have liked to keep the comments on a few that I recently cleaned out, but the removal of the pic, takes them all along.

Wondering if it would be possible to create a site-wide holder image. Say a 300x300 sign that states, this image was removed by the artist. That image is stored in one location with a button to link to. Then when a photographer goes to clean up the old stuff, they simply need to press the replace and delete button which redirects all html requests for that pic to the sign and the database leaves the comments on the artist's portfolio with the original name.

Probably stated much more simply than would be possible, but maybe something similar would be an option for preserving comments.

Why not just save the comments before deleting the image?
