I just finished uploading an outtake of my submission for the Yellow Revisited challenge.

Original submission:

Outtake:

Which do you like better? I had an extremely hard time choosing between the two. I'm very pelased with the result I got... just wondering if the outtake would have done better.

Both are going to available as prints.

Wow, i'd have a very hard time also if I were in your position. Hmmm, i kept on looking back and forth btwn the 2 for a couple min. And i decided i like the one you submitted. so good choice!

I still like your original the subject is more prominent and I love the way the water ring is around it. The second picture is good as well I really like the water details. But I still think you went with the right picture, choosing the details of the duck than the picture that draws the eye to the water. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.

being one who collects rubber duckies, i would have to go for the first...

a) the face is prominent, thus letting the duckies face be clearly seen

b) the pose is more classic of a ducky

c) the first photo has a more distinguished shadow of the rubber ducky on the water

I like the one you submitted better also. I like the symetry between the duck and its reflection; the darker "shadow" reflection (though maybe you just got that on the submitted one through processing and could have gotten it on the other one as well); the lines of the ripples vs. the more random and sort of chaotic "waves"; and the more profile view vs. the duck looking away. All astetic things that probably mostly come down to taste, but my opinion would be you made the right choice.
