I tagged along yesterday to the Xmas concert given at the highschool where my wife teaches.

I have posted some of the results.

The first six images were shot with my Canon 70-200mm f4 on a monopod. The remaining shots were done with my Canon 300mm f4 IS handheld! Man that lens rocks!

Shooting was challenging since there was so little light. No spotlights, just insufficient stage lighting from above. Crappiest lighting I`ve seen in a long time. Anyway, that meant shooting at ISO 1600 with shutter speeds varying between 1/50 and 1/100. Many images were still a bit underexposed. I had to do a lot of brightening with curves and a bit of noise reduction, although hardly on the 300mm shots. I didn`t want to use flash to distract the band.

Please share comments/critique if you feel like it.

Thanks

Great shots! I love that 300mm f/4L IS lens, great value for money and a LOT more affordable (US$1094.95)and hand-holdable than its US$3899.95 big brother, the 300mm f/2.8L IS.
