the lens looks good. straight flash however, does not. lol, the first images lighting is so much better than the last three.

Hi Tom. What lens did you shoot with? I think the contrast and sharpness is excellent.

I just bought an old, but in good shape, Pentax screwmount Super Takumar 50mm 1:1.4 today myself. :) Taking a shot or two with it, it's quite sharp, and a great deal at $20. But getting back to your lens, Looks like a winner.

if i already have the 420ex , is it worth upgrading to the 550ex, is there a big differnce

depends, what do you use your flash for now?

sometimes when i'm in a larger room this 420 doesent push enough , will the 550 go further ,I even bought a flash bracket ,

Those pictures look terrible! Send me that lens and I'll get it working for you. ;-)

Okay, actually, those are really cute pics. I have the same flash and all my similar shots turn out this way as well - no lighting in the back. I'm considering a flash upgrade as well, so I'm interested in hearing what other people think about it. But regardless of the flash, you're definitely going to be happy with new lens. Congrats!

do you use FEC?
