Every time I try to post an image in a forum it doesn't display the tumbe nail image just the code for the thumb nail. If I post a full size image it will display it, but i realize that that is just rude for those with slower conncetions. I thought that the reason was that I was using the save for web feature of photoshop which doen't include thumbs, but when I tried a regular save it did the same thing.

I'm using a mac, but since everything is being used through the browser that shouldn't make a difference. Please help if you have any suggestions.

The thumbnail feature will only work for photos uploaded to DPC either in a challenge or a portfolio, because you only put the number of the image, eg:

[ thumb ] 26613 [ /thumb]

If you want to do it for an image outside of DPC you have to take the long way round:

[ url=//url.com/image.html ] [ img ] //url.com/thumbnail.jpg [ /img ] [ /url ]

All without any spaces of course :)

Click on the right most icon and enter the image id in the box that appears.


in this case the id is "124663"

You can actually see what is contained in a thumbnail by clicking on quote on a previous entry with thumbnails. Copy and paste and you have it.

Also, hit preview and see if you have got it right.

Thanks you also answered another question that I have had since I joined in October which is why do we (members) have portfoilos and what are they good for.
