Hi,
Does anyone have any idea if those wide angle or macro lenses that fit onto the end of a regular lens are any good? I have a Tamron 28-300 XR Di lens for my Canon 10D, and I need a wide angle lens as well as a macro lens for a class I am taking. I have seen those lenses that fit onto the end of your regular lens and I was wondering if anyone thought they were a good way to save money and still take quality pics?

I have no experience with these types of lenses, but my guess is that the quality of the images produced won't be too good.
Hope you get more advice. |

| I used to have a set... They're ok, you can get some cool effects from them, but I would reccomend getting a regualar macro. It seem like I couldn't get everything in focus, like the edges of the photo. They were kind of weird. |

Well.... that was my suspision. If it looks too good to be true... it probably is... thanks for the info. My Tamron lens has a macro setting, but I need to be closer. Maybe a macro filter would be best. Thanks for the comments!

Look into extension tubes - no extra glass to reduce quality, though you do lose some light.

I am so excited that you think extension tubes are a good idea with my lens! I bought some yesterday and can't wait to get them!! Thanks for the info!
