It just occured to me that maybe I should put something in the title relating to the ribbon winner I am using for this deja vu challenge. That way voters may find it easier to know which photo you are imitating ? Or just leave it in your photographer comments before submitting and everyone will know after voting has finished.
What do you all think ? :-) |

I also thought that the challenge in which the ribbon winner originally appeared should be included in the title.

I asked this question in the Deja Vu Thread and got this response:
Originally posted by Prof_Fate: Originally posted by KaDi: I'm wondering about titles in this challenge. If, for example, you "paid homage" to Brad P's "Cat Scan" would you title it 1. "Cat Scan" 2. "Humor II - Blue" or 3. something else entirely? I suppose it should be obvious what you're imitating, but unless it's a recent winner.... |
Use the same title, and put in the image # as in a Thumb insert in a forum message.
Elsewise, you may get a lot of 'does not meet challenge because i cannot find what you are copying/referring to, etc'
There is no phot search on this site (yet) by title...so it will be up the entrant to make sure the voter has a frame of reference to verify it meets the challenge.
There are lots of new folks here, and not everyone can/will remember every ribbon winning pic from 200+ challenges! |
Anyone want to test out how to make active links on entry titles?

Yes I agree

I'm eager to see how all the hommages will turn out. Although I've seen most of the about thousand ribbon winning shots so far, it would be nice to have the image id to counter check again.
For example, snackwells might have called his picture
'5AM, 5 Doughnuts = Fat Stomach (#111473)'
By the way, that'd have been a good one for this challenge.

Good question... i tried a few things, like forum code, with no success.
An SC got an answer, or is not possible?

I don't thnk it's possible to have an active link in an entry title, tho I could be wrong. I've played around in the past with "more than plain text" with little or no success.

What should we do as far as titling our entries?

I think it might be a good idea to have the challenge name in the title
Or whateva people just have to search before saying doesnt meet the challenge A number wouldnt look nice in a title... or would it?
People should just find out for themself what they wanna title the picture
It could be something similar to the other title or the same title or whateva :D |

I 'copied' (paid homage) to another image, so i repeated the title and put thechallenge in parentheses after it...like this:
Pride of London (landmarks)
I might have modified the name if it was a parody...
And just to make it fun, I know the photographer I am copying, and have his permission to do so...but i still think his is better than mine.
