Did anybody get any pictures of the meteor shower the other night? It was too cloudy here.

holy moly! do you run your vacuum cleaner through your camera? or use it to house your pet dust mites?

I don't want to steal the thread away, but I used a hurricane blower and most likely knocked loose dust specks near the CCD onto the CCD. Live and learn. ;)

Oooh... that's a very sparkly CCD you have there!

Back to the thread... I only went out for a few minutes near the peak of the meteor shower and saw maybe four or five Geminids, but it was after midnight and well below freezing so I just couldn't muster the will to drag out my camera. Next time. The are plenty of good shots over at spaceweather.com.

i tried to look for some the other night while I was flying back from St. Louis to Houston, but had no luck.

Sparkly, thats about the ummm how do i say this, but that is the dirtiest I have seen a sensor. Have you tried some 409 or Mr. Clean, aybe some soft scrub with clorox will do the trick ;)

I went out at about 1:30. But the sun was too bright. jk

I really did go out about 1:30 AM, and about 10 seconds after I looked up saw a nice bright one and got all excited. About a minute later I saw a second, fainter one, and figured if I saw another one, I'd go get my camera. Five minutes later, I hadn't seen any more, the fog was starting to build, it was cold and my feet were getting wet, so I gave up.
