Adobe in the camera, Adobe has a larger color profile. The SRGB profile is smaller and is mostly for web presentation and etc.

RAW files can only be viewed with a RAW file viewer, in my case, with the 10D, that is the Canon RAW file viewer since I only have Photoshop 7 which does not have a RAW file converter. I believe PS CS either comes with a RAW file converter, or it can be purchased to plug in.
What are you using to try to view the RAW files? |

Discraft, you should have received two programs, EOS Viewer Utility and the newer, more powerful Digital Photo Professional, with your 20D that will allow you to view RAW files; and also to save them in other formats, such as jpg & tiff. I believe the are updates for both programs available at the Canon site.
Do the RAW files show up when you copy the contents of your CF card to your hard drive? They will have .CR2 as the file name extension. |

Are you shooting in Basic Mode or Manual(Creative) Mode? RAW is not available as an option in Basic (Automatic) mode on the 10D, and I would think it would be the same on the 20D.
edited to add the word "Creative"

Hmmm. Are you using a card reader? If so, look at the card using Windows Explorer (assuming you're on PC running Windows). The RAW files should have a file name like "IMG_1234.CR2".
If they are being written, you should be able to see them using your operating system. If they are not, then there is a problem with the camera settings.
BTW, with RAW files there is no such thing as using a color space (or white balance) since you are dealing with the data directly from the sensor. You apply all your chosen settings upon conversion to JPEG or TIFF.

Are you certain that you took those images in the Creative Mode? If you set your file size to RAW, but then switch back to Basic (Automatic) Mode for shooting your photos, the images recorded will be JPEG ONLY. |

More likely a settings issue than a broken cam. The supplied USB cable is fine, but maybe a little slower than a card reader. What mode is youe 20D set in when you are trying to shoot RAW? Try using the P mode. |

I mention this because, when I got my first digital camera, I set the file size to RAW, but then thought that the camera wasn't taking in RAW, only to figure out that, without thinking about it much, I switched to Automatic mode, and of course, it only took JPEGS.

| I understand the theoretical advantages of adobe over srgb. However, in practice, I have gotton much brighter prints using srgb. Much better skin tones also. I don't know why, but my frustration level is much less using srgb. Anyone else have similar experience? |

Where are you looking at them? In Photoshop file browser or in Windows Explorer? |

Yes, if you are looking at your files in Windows Explorer, then you should see a list of files like this: CRW_1297.CRW.
If you are using Photoshop (7 or below), or a similar photo program and looking for them in the program's file browser you will not see any files other than JPEGs.
If you navigate to the photos using the Canon RAW file viewer, can you see them there???

Thanks again but i think the really problem here is the computer because i turn on my laptop and they appear there, so computer problem here, now it seems everytime i restart my computer i have to stick my compact flash on the card reader since it's an internal card reader, what a bummer... :( thanks.
