not sure what kind of data would be pertinent.any input on series will be greatly aprecaited. all have been post processed on PS ELEMENTS. photomerged two pics, one sharp-the other out of focus, for the effects.
crop, levels.

thanks

I'd like to see a combination of number one and number three. The first one is a bit too out of focus but number three would be bettter if it wa a bit darker like number one.

puma-
that's exactly what I was thinking! I do like the softness in the photos, it makes them appear "magical" in a way.

Oh how un-original of me...
The third one is my favorite too. I think it's softness is giving it a great mood and still keeps it as close to nature as it should.
Maybe a bit of harder contrast on the trunks in both sides would make them look a bit darker and could do good to the atmosphere.

Also like the hird one the best. That result can also be achieved using gaussian blur with only one photo.

It is an interesting technique and I like the effect you've achieved, however (and if these are just tests, it probably doesn't matter) the first thing I thought was that those kids in the background are in line to use the park restroom. :)

Seeing all these impressionistic pics (both yours and the recent challenge) has almost got me inspired to go out and give it a try too!

thanks ,

i see what you guys mean. lowered the midtones in leves and it works for me.using contrast, did not work.
Yes i usually use gussian blur, layers, change opacity(sp)
spot editing, but this time it was not working for the effect i was looking for, so i used photomerge.

i was there the day before saw how the trees framed the background in the fog, took a couple shots. loved them . but gave me the idea to reshoot for the desired effect. the boys happenned to be there.

i think i might go back to reshoot the scene. with more fog. no kids or car. and lower the horizon
