Hi,
I am sort of new to photography and would like some feedback on a photo I took today. I didn't do anything to this photo but to crop it and add my little "juniper studios" thingy.

Nice crop Jennifer, a tad more saturation/contrast and USM could have it really poppin,
Nicely done.
Paul.

Just some thoughts:
the flowers is a little blown out, might like to try to burn it to bring back darker colors. also the background doesn't go very well with the dark color of the butterfly.. not sure what you can do to improve though... and again as Paul suggested, up the saturation/contrast.. might like to use curves on the image..and finally USM after you resize it to the viewable pixels |

I also would recommend a tighter crop and maybe a rotation. The focus is soft on the wings, so a tighter crop would make the body of the butterfly more the focal point rather than the entire butterfly as it is now. This would make the sharp body, softer wings effect look more intentional. |

Thanks for the help! Gonna go try some of those suggestions now!

I really like the contrast between the Buttery and Flowers in buttery #14, maybe bring the mids up just a tad to enhance the whites...very nice pic.

the depth of field could be a bit deeper i think.
no offense, but the butterfly thing is getting way to cliche for my taste... a nice photo though.
