I like it, but yeah, I would tone down the purple slightly. Other than that, it's a great shot with nice detail!

I agree, I would desaturate it a little, its just too vibrant.

Wow! Big difference in the desktop monitor (Flat Panel) and the Laptop. I see the oversaturation now, gonna have to work on recalibarting the Laptop's display. Thanx for the feedback all, gonna go back to the drawing board on this one. The nieces wanted a purple flower, but I liked the yellow of the original, probably post two new shots this week, one purple but much less 'vibrant' (way overdone is more like it ;-) ) and the original.

Was a really fun excercise in layering saturation changes tho, so I learned something valuable.

Finally got some time to revisit this one. No purple this time. The effects are now very obvious when shifting a hue that far from it's center. So here is the 'close to' original.



Wish I had taken this during the Yellow Challenge time, I would have at least submitted an entry.
