yes - it is 105mm prime lense - good for all sorts of things.

the two of the kids seem a bit soft - the one of the women is nice and sharp - but the red playground or whatever in the BG is kind of a distraction.

Wow. The first one is absolutely astonishing.

I like the bokeh on this one too. Would be curious to compare them side by side with nikon's 105/2.8... I was kinda thinking about a decent tele-macro prime in addition to my 60/2.8, looks like this may be a good candidate.

Do you have any macro shots with it by chance?

I was looking at that lens for purchase down the road, mostly for portraits, but if the 105 macro looks that good for portraits and also can do macros, the only benifits are the couple F stops. They are around the same price if I recall it correctly.

That is Canon 85 mm.Adobe channel mixer /burning and unsharp mask.

On the left side on Adobe tool bar there is BURN/DODGE/SPONGE tool,you can use to darken or lighten select areas :-)

do you have any pics from the 105 like these that aren't softened? I'd like to see how razor sharp it is compaired to the 85mm.

I have both , and the 85 blows the 105 away

This is the Sigma 105 wide open

It's a nice lens, but for me, I think it's a bit long for anything other than headshots.
