I was thinking that it might be a good idea to issue paid up members with an Id card proving membership, something like a clip on card with relevant info. The cost should obviously be carried by the member who should have the choice if he requires one or not. As I see it, it will market our community and at the same time perhaps open up doors more easily. Just a thought.

I can't see it opening any doors up and who really looks at id badges anyway. Bumper stickers may be a alternative solution for advertising/promotion.

Do you mean to use your member id card as a press pass? Would that work?

I would think that your work would speak better for you (when opening doors) than an ID card from a website would. Although it might be kind of fun and silly to have member trading cards for when there are meet-ups.

I'm sure you can make one and have it laminated for less than what one would cost that is sold to you by DPC. Both would be most effectivly used for opening doors if slipped between the door and jamb.

We actually did a DPChallenge.com Sticker Design challenge (and a DPCPrints.com Sticker Design challenge) a year or so back, which might one day result in some merchanising from D&L... :o)
