Just went looking for the RGB/Hex of 'Neutral Grey' (999999/153-153-153) from what I understand, and came across this fabulous test pattern that helped me really fine tune the color gamma on Adobe Gamma.

Hope she doesn't mind my sending traffic this way....

//www.kathryngale.com/tests/
1) Open the page, then launch Adobe Gamma.
2) Set your monitor controls to 50% for R/G/B.
3) Set your Brightness and Contrast to best settings (won't offer hints on this, I have personal prefs, but you will get a chance to tweak this later.)
4) Now go back to Adobe Gamma. Load your preferred color space and set your gamma pref number. (I chose 2.0)
5) Uncheck the Single Gamma Box to view three color boxes.
6) Load test1 from the WebSite and tweak RGB boxes as directed in Adobe Gamma.
(Tweak the Gamma Boxes til you have Black/Dk Grey boxes at top section of Gamma and No Colorations in the pattern of the webpage. The center boxes should 'disappear in the pattern.')
7) Load Test 2 and verify that you can see both the end spectrum boxes, but just barely (tweak bright control/contrast control from Gamma or Monitor.)
8) Test the Adobe Gamma Neutral Gray.
9) Save the profile as your default.

Happy Coloring!
