I am having family over for lunch (about 12)Just the usual cold turkey, ham, and salads. Lots of unwrapping for the kiddies. :o) Then to the sister inlaws for more of the same food and unwrappings. Hope it isnt too hot.
I hope everyone has a joyous and safe christmas

My ideal for this year would be to just spend Christmas at home without all the family. Sit around, play some games, and of course unwrap gifts. However, a tradition has developed over the last few years of going to the grandparents for Christmas Eve and then to the psuedo-inlaws for Christmas Day. I like seeing everyone but it's starting to get on my nerves with all the driving involved.

This year we had Thanksgiving dinner here and it was so wonderfully relaxing not having to drive. Sure I cooked everything but when the celebration was over... I was already home. Can't beat that.

I'm going back home to Australia for Christmas. My father has a Fuji Finepix S7000, so I will definitely be playing around with that. I don't know what cameras my brothers have now, but something hi-tech, no doubt (one being a certified professioal photog).

We always have a very traditional Christmas Eve with my family every year--dinner at sunset followed by unwrapping the gifts, midnight Mass, then more food & drink. It goes on until the wee hours of Christmas morning! This year will be a very special year for us because it is our son's first Christmas (he's seven months old). I think we might have to move to a new house to accommodate all the new toys... ;^)

Hopefully I'll sleep through the whole thing!

Gracie is 2 and a half this year, and she really is starting to find out what christmas is. I wish most people saw christmas through the eyes of a young child. She is just as happy looking in pretty windows, and admiring trees, and she is singing xmas songs. She really melts my heart. I am just gonna sit back a try to see the wonderful season through her eyes. I don't think there is a better way to do it.

I'm going to Austria on the 20th. I'll probably be in Salzburg during Christmas....hopefully it's a white one!

I am going to mug Santa Claus. I hear he carries cameras to all the good DPCers of the world. All i need is a D70 and a few lenses, some Alien Bee flash equipment, a backdrop or 12.

Here is my plan - either spike the milk and cookies, or leave him hot wings and beer.

Which will work better do you think?

Give him the hot wings and beer. After he gives you the D70, tell him you'll have a better snack for him next year (so he will bring a better camera) THAT IS WHEN YOU STRIKE!

Getting up early, playing Santa, making coffee, watching the mayhem as my kids open their presents, going to the in-laws, taking lots of pics the whole time. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm NOT working!

Distract him with strippers...oh, no, that would distract me too.

Looks like a relaxed holiday this year. No real travel, and Xmas celebrations spread out over two weekends, so no running madly from one place to the next :)
I've got ten days off work between Xmas & new years, & I'm plotting some photographic expeditions. I hope we have snow. Nothing but rain recently :(
Starting in January it's full throttle, since I'm starting in a new position at work, and I've got aggressive goals for the year.
