Silly question: Is there a strong correlation between number of entries in a challenge and the number of individual votes you can expect to get in that challenge?
Just wondering,

My theory [just from looking at my past challenges] is that if the submissions are below 300 per challenge you will average 1.22:1 votes per entry ratio. If the entries are > 300 then there is a dramatic change seen in this chart. [please not this chart only consist of a few challenges. More detail analysis need to be done to come to a more accurate conclusion]. The ratio takes a big swing in the other direction. Your ratio becomes only 0.32:1 votes per entry ratio.
In conclusion based upon the limited information above I conclude that even though the votes remain relative [1] in nature no matter how many entries. However the entries to vote ratio does have a large swing of 0.32 to 1.22, almost a full vote per submission.
[1] Entries <300 yields an average vote of 277.5 per entry. While entries >300 yields an average vote of 286.8 per entry.
Therefore I feel that the number of entries is irrelevant on the vote outcome. You should still average [within 5%] the same amount of votes.

interesting analysis - and a lot of work! thanks for the reply. too bad there doesn't seem to be a strong relationship between entries and votes. there might be a distinction between the types of challenges (member vs. open vs. speed) but it's probably not worth investigating.
nice chart too! :)

One thing that's pretty obviuos from that chart is that no matter what the number of entries is the number of votes remains pretty constant at around 300
