The photo is great, and the second is even greater. His skin tone looks a little blueish to me. I think I would play around with that a bit more and try to minimize the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. Great expression. Almost hypnotic.
EDIT:
I played around with this a bit, and was wondering if you have tried black and white? It is stunning in BW.

WOW!! I think I prefer the 2nd shot, the dark b/g and subtle skin colour is wonderful. I feel the colour adds a warmth to the portrait......but they are all awesome!!
