And last but certainly not least is Wildlife. If you have shots or access to wild animals that are special to your area or special to any area (they can be shot in a zoo) then you need to email me at: DNeufer@stny.rr.com with Wildlife in the Subject line. This one I think we will limit it to one per country or area of country (when you have large areas like the US, Russia, Australia, etc.) So if you know of an animal that is known to have originated in your country or area or is only found in your country or area email me and I will update this post as the names come in.
Deannda
Already getting emails on the other projects.
Just to satisfy those who need more details:
Goal
The goal of this project is to represent as best as possible the global diversity of the DPC community. The main work lies with you the participant, it is your responsibility to do the homework and find out which animal came or orginated in your part of the world.
NOTE: Similar to the other colaborative projects - the goal here is a poster sized image photos from photographers in all represented countries. Each photographer will sign a release granting the right to use the photograph in this project, and in return will receive nonexclusive rights to sell the resulting combined poster and keep any profits earned from those sales. A fixed price schedule will be determined for sales on DPC Prints only, but participants will be able to sell the project elsewhere at varying prices.
Eligibility and Selection
This project is open to all Registered Users of DPChallenge (but is not a DPC-sponsored project). You can take the pictures either in the wild or in a zoo, as long as the setting looks natural.

I think you are underestimating the amount of work involved in running these collaborative projects. None of your project ideas seem to be in working condition yet because of details left out in description. I think talking to Jmsetzler, the first person who began the collaborative projects before you head into so much work by beginning three separate ones on your own.

I would like to add on that it would be easier to keep it simple by adding collaborative projects six and seven together. If you are planning on taking so much of the responsibility on your own, simplifying the two projects into one will help ease the workflow.

Which is why I asked for someone to help me with these but so far no one has stepped up to help with any of them so it may take longer to get them going but I have already started folders for the different projects.
Or better yet, how bout I just have them delete the threads and forget the whole thing? Sorry, but it's been a long day and it's getting longer when I have children fighting over stupid things. I'm trying to do something nice here and I get grief for it. I did not underestimate the time and effort involved and if anyone thinks it's going to be done overnight well, sorry it's not going to happen. It will take time, effort and patience on everyone's part. If not enough people step up to participate in the projects then they are null and void.
And the fact that I didn't put out extremely detailed instructions when 3 sets pretty much already existed, again, sorry but I didn't think I would have to repeat the same instructions for the basics of the idea.
You know, I'm not stupid, I have a clue what is involved and I know that I'm setting myself up for a lot of work, but you know what? I don't mind. I like working, I like keeping busy.
And just what kind of descriptions would you like? It's dogs, cats and animals a-z, I don't think I have to get into great detail about which dogs, cats or animals you choose, I'm letting each person choose what they want to shoot, I'm not assigning anything specific to any one person, that is where most of the work is involved. As for the world project, I'm letting again, the people do the homework, if there is no interest in the project than it's done or someone else can do the research and look up all the different animals of the world and where they came from and make a list.
It's been a long day, I'm going to go calm down now and get ready for bed because it's going to be an even longer weekend.
Deannda
Have a nice night

I am sorry for my comments but at the time i posted, none of the goals or eligebility selection sections were up yet.
Or original post did not sound as prepared as it does now.

I'm sorry too, I'm a witch today and I should have waited to respond. My emotions were already running high and I took it too personally. Forgive me?
Oh and which animal do you want?

I'd be willing to participate in anyway needed. Animal wise, I have a pet leopard gecko at home that I can set in a natural looking scene. Otherwise, the best ive got are maybe squirrels and deer.

Anything I can do to help you with organizing or putting things together, I'll try my best.

Thanks so much. I have the threads on watch mode and will try to bump them this weekend, if I don't get a chance could you do that? I have to be at the barn at 7:30 in the morning and will be there all day long with the clinic.
As for the Gecko, you just bought yourself the letter G in the A-Z Animal project :)
Thanks again!

You may also use those for Wildlife, but they will not be listed by letter.

Ok..I think I have sorted out the threads accordingly..In this thread you are looking for animals that are specific to a nation or continent..correct? I hope so because I am going to try on emore time with this Alaskan Snow Fox. It is only indiginous to the North American Continent. Found only in the United States and Canada. Hope this qulaifies!

I think with the other three projects going we will put this one on hold for now. I would still like to do it but people will need time to do some research for their area and such. I will keep this on my watched threads list and probably revive after the others are well underway and ready to go.
THanks everyone for all your help so far! |

Unless you're only after pictures taking exclusively and specifically for the project I'd love to contribute one of my existing wildlife pics to the Wildlife project.
I have several on DPC Prints, as well as outtakes of most of those animals in slightly different poses. I also have a lot more Africa animal ones plus a whole LOT of penguins and seals from the recent Antarctica trip.

Would a Wisconsin Cheesehead watching a Packers game count as wild life? We shoot those all the time here in Illinois...oh wait, we use guns not cameras...never mind. |
