can't help you here, but it dosen't look like a regular foal to me, shetland pony would be my best guess

Good picture. I've always liked ponies. As for the photograph, here is my two cents: The pony's head is dead center of the frame, which makes it feel a little too much like a snapshot for me. Also, the light isn't exactly the best. The fence rails are a major element and they are all in shadow. Part of the pony is in shadow as well. IMO, this would be better if you'd pulled in closer on the pony show more expression and to de-emphasize the shadowy area to the front and right of the post on that rail fence. Also, it would be fun to experiment with moving the pony to the right/left/top/bottom of the frame. Depending on the area not seen in this shot, one of those might be a lot better result. I do like the effect of the rails, though. Especially, the top and middle rail make an interesting frame for the pony's head. Again, moving the head to the right of the frame, somewhat, would enhance this eye catching feature in the picture. Nice picture. Keep up the good work!

I think it might be a Norwegian Fjord Horse

Thanks for the replies guys :)

I'll have to see what a Norwegian Fjord Horse looks like. These horses are about 4-5 feet tall and their bellies are really wide (3 feet would be my guess).

Thanks for the advice JiaBob. I'll play around with it to see if I can get it to fit the rule of thirds. I probably should have thought about that before posting it. :| Thanks again for your very in-depth response! :)

Here's another pic of the ponies taken at the same time.

(sorry for the horrible example!)
