| tamrom 17-35 2.8 anyone have this lens , been looking for a wide angle and this one is around $400. instead oF $1000. for canon or any suggestions for a wide angle thanks |

are you talking about : Tamron Zoom Super Wide Angle 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Aspherical IF Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS ?
That is f 2.8 at 17 and f4 at 35 mm. $ 480

I didn't see that particular lens on the Lens Performance Survey but if you'd like another set of opinions, check out the reviews at Fred Miranda's site. Folks there seem to like it.
