Hi, I just dropped a boat load of money on my camera and I'm sure I'll want to get a tripod for it, but I'm not sure I'm ready to spend 300+ for one just yet. And I'm not sure what I'll be looking for and how often I'll be using it right away. Anyone have a good FAQ or something I can read up on them? And or a recommendation? I'm sure someday I'll probably want something cool but at this point spending more then a few hundred on it is probably not something I'm ready for. Thanks!

Ipicked up a $20 tripod,Ambico, I believe, from walmart a couple of years ago (for a camcorder). It works fine, but a light camera (like my P&S) isn't heavy enough to hold the head in a portrait position. Other than that, works like a charm.

Yup, that's what I have. No problems yet. And somehow my clients never notice that it doesn't say Manfrotto.

what a coinkindink, I was just about to suggest a cheap, yet somehow as useful as any other I bought from wal mart and here you all are talking about it.

Another happy customer with the walmart cheapie!
