Seems quite small
I own a Meade Telescope (ETX 90)
The focal Length is 1250mm with 90mm lens diameter
But..there are different types of telescopes.
Refractors, Dobsonians, Maksutov-Cassegrain(which is what I have)
And a couple more..
I'm guessing your are talking about a Refractor.
The focal Length is quite small..so I'm guessing it's only good for looking at the moon :) |

ETX 70 is a Great Beginner scope.
Very Similar to mine.
Visit this site for everything you want to know about the scope.

Are you looking to buy it? I would Highly reccomend taking the next step up. The ETX-90 for a little more money.

It all depends on what you want to see..
I personally think the ETX 70 is not worth the money.
I would get an ETX 90..
a similar comparasin would be a Point and Shoot vs DSLR
you will see alot with the 70..but you will see 4 times better with the 90.
edit: wow I'm a retard, I need to learn how to proof read my posts.

so its not worth the upgrade, i'm talking about this because a stor here by my house is making a type of sale and this telescope is there. If not this one, then won't make the upgrade. Just asking if it would be an nice upgrade?

The important question is: "What do you want to do with this telescope?"
Do you want to take pictures through it? Use it as a spotting scope? Use it just for astronomy? Do you just want to use it to look at the moon, planets? Are you interested in Deep Sky Objects?

Check out this photo of the moon with the ETX 70
//www.weasner.com/etx/guests/2004/images/avondo-moon100104.jpg
The tracking is ideal for photography. But the ETX 70 not ideal for Deep sky objects, like Messier objects. But it is great for Planets and Stars.
and the Moon of course..
The photo is from //www.weasner.com/etx/menu.html The Astrophotography section
