Okay I did some retouching a previous photo. The first is the original and second is retouching of the first. Any comments on which one is better? Anything I could do to improve the photo?

Well, I like the overall tonality of the second, but I like the darker clouds at the top the first one has. Maybe just burn those in a bit? I think having the dark top balances the dark bottom better. |

i like the 1st better it has a better overall feel to it.
the 1st looks like a photograph (a true 1 ie film)
the 2nd looks like a digital image (too taken in and up ie. too altered)
a blend of the 2 would be ideal i say keep working try to get the colour of the 2nd with the darkness of the clouds in the 1st.
the orange tone in the 2nd is nice but i feel it is important to keep the darkness of that 1 cloude just above the horizon.it sets a good mood for the whole image and has a natrual drawing since it is where the sun is (ie. the sorce of the light), it should remain in shadow.
_brando_ i hope i wasn't redundant its 2:08am here and i'm tired.:o

okay...I played around with a little burning to make the clouds at top darker. What do you think?
Here is another retouched with the clouds not burnt as much.

I like the more-burned-in clouds better. Very nice. |
