I took this on a recent trip or Portland, Or. at the Japanese Gardens.
Unfortunately, I only had my camera set to 1200x1600, so I can't get a big pic of it, but I like the image, and would like some ideas for improvements. I have also down a vertical crop that focuses more on the waterfall. I only got it a little bigger than 4x6, so I added a black border to make it 5x7.
The only things I have done so far is darken it a bit, and also darkened the green channel only ( the gamma settings on both- and boy what a difference that made). Hopefully it is not too dark on your monitor as it is borderline on mine, but the print looks great. This is also sharpened a little more than the print I made.

Might be more helpful to give us some clues about what you did to make that version Longlivenyhc. Nice work but how??

oh u like? ^_^
overexposed the image by probably 1 1/2 stops using brightness combined with a lil contrast adjustment, then duplicated the layer, top layer i applied some gaussian blur, dont remember the exact amount, enough that the details start to get lost, then set that layer blending mode to multiply. this technique is usually referred to as a Montage i believe.

both are very cool, and remind me of Predator.
I would guess than that nobody has any real problems with the over all composition and exposure of the original?
The second idea is my current favorite, I like the blur effect.
Thanks so much!

no prob. i dont know too much about composition and all but i like the photo. i'll remove the photo immediately from my portfolio if you wish. otherwise i'll leave it up for a lil while and then take it down anyway.
