Nice job with a clean background and nice contrast between the red and green. More ideas left on the image...

I'm truly agree with cghubbell. Nice picture but you could use less depth of field in my opinion and less exposure to give the details, but forgetting about those aspects its a nice macro shot. good job.

I think it either needs to be all in focus or with a very shallow depth of field and focus plane precisely on what you want to highlight. Thу latter would also help blur the background and make the flower stand out.
Right now it looks somewhat soapy across the board, perhaps in part due to compression. Otherwise, it's a very questionable composition and crop, unless you are making a shot for a book about hibiscuses and aren't trying to make an artistic image. And lastly, you need to watch the highlights. If you make a generally darker picture (not in direct sun, for instance), the red of the flower would go better with the darker green on the foliage.
Sorry i can't say it's a good picture, but keep trying. hth. |
