I wish this was my entry but it was taken earlier. I think it would have done well.

i probably would have given it a 5 or 6 but it seems to be aqua green to me, so if you entered it like that i would probably give a 3..the challenge states "Reduce the world to a palette of grays" this would not apply

this was my choice to enter - but forgot about the basic rules.
only thing illegal was changing the opacity of a layer...

Well, not exactly outtakes but a few days after the challenge ended I was able to make it up in the mountains for the first snow. Wish I had these shots then:

edit: although the titles say Mt. Baker they are actually Mt. Shuksan, a neighbor to Mt. Baker.

Yes, that would have been great. Then you could have pushed my score even lower. First pic in particular is great.

Thanks, that is my favorite also. Don't feel alone, I'm running my normal low 5's on the B/W challenge. As a consolation I'm learning what makes a good B/W shot.

Wonderful! I would have probably scored them - First: 9, second: 8, third: 6

or higher, depending on the competition when I did my final sort.

VERY nice work. I love the effect of the subtle clouds in the sky in shots one and two.

Thanks. It was a glorious day. The high clouds are the first of a new storm moving in that hit that night. You almost can't take a bad picture up there when the weatehr is good.

jbsmithana: These are great.

I thought 9-7-6 for no better reason than the fact that I like the composition on the first shot much better than the other two (which are good in their own right.)

Looks like a great day. Thanks for sharing.

No lynching from me, I love cougars and this one is a great capture. I would not have thought it would transfer well into b/w but it did. Would have gottena high mark from me.

What negative comments? She's very picturesque.

I'll go a step further on that, todd. She's hot! But you don't have to tell her I said so, if it might be a sensitive issue. ;-)

Congrats on the second little darling, and good luck!
