Has anyone upgraded from elements 2 to elements 3?

I have and so far, I am leaning towards elements 2 as my prefered choice.

Elements 3 uses photo browser and album way too much. I really liked elements 2 (I have used PS full version, but too $$$ for what I was doing). I could do everyting I needed in 2, but thought I would upgrade to 3.

There are a couple of nice new features in 3. The blemish fix works perfect.

Let me know if anyone has better thoughts re. 3.

DPReview has posted a preliminary review of a beta version here: Adobe Photoshop Elements 3

Mostly compares features of the new version to 2 and CS, telling what's improved and what's missing.

I am in a similar position.

Things I like about Elements 3:
- Raw conversion - SUPER
- 16 bit mode - Limited but super
- JP2K support

Things I hate:
- The interface ignores my XP settings. I used Windows 2K look and feel, but it still has that stupid XP look
- Autoscroll. Whenever I select a with the Marquee, and get towards an edgge - BAM - it scrolls so that have the window is empty workspace
- No size status bar (on Elements 2, this was on the bottom and could give you size in pixels or inches)
- The catalog is very cool, but useless. As soon as I let it catalog my image collection, it started working in slow motion. And I have a dual processor power machine. I have lots of catalog programs, including thumbsplus, which work instantly, no matter how many images are cataloged.
- I didn't want to register online so I didn't--and every time I start the program, it asks me AGAIN.

I've only been using it a couple of weeks though--and haven't totally given up yet. But I still have Elements 2 installed, so I can use either.

I second those "hates" so far.
I am going back & forth between 2.0 & 3.0 as well. I suspect that one day I'll figure out how to kill the empty workspace and reduce the total number of files on my hard drive, and those 2 things will likely sway me over to 3.0 for good.

I installed PS Elements 3 last week. I haven't had time to use it much. But I like the Organizer better than PS Album, especially the stacking feature. It doesn't seem terribly slow to me.

I do miss the tools available from Richard Lynch's book The Hidden Power of Photoshop Elements 2. Apparently the tools interface changed so much that he had to completely rewrite it, and it won't be out until next month.

The thing I hate the most so far is that there are minor changes to the interface: just enough to be irritating.
