Just an idea. I'm not sure if this would influence voting...but what if during voting everyone could see the number of comments each photo has received.
That way if a photo only has one or two comments, voters may step up and give a few more. And it could make choosing which photos to comment on a little easier. If I knew which pics needed more comments, I would take the time to comment on those. |

I disagree with this, the fact that your image recives less then expected comments should mean alot. Like for example my image is probably less commented because maybe it sucks. As I said many times, I consider my best image on this site the one where I recived the most comments and my image that ribbons sucked bigtime!

I think the pattern is more that images that suck (to use that term) and images that rock get heaps of comments. Middle of the road images, good but not outstanding, tend to get the least comments.
I don't see what showing the number of comments during voting would really achieve though to be honest.

Perhaps it is the photo's that are not the best are the ones that need the comments so they can improve. Rethink!!! They can all use comments, because no matter how good you are you can always improve. So it may not be a bad idea. We should be here to help each other. |

I think neither the number of comments, nor the number of views, nor the current score, or anything else voting and standings related should be shown to anyone, including the photo's author. |

i think it wouldnt be a bad idea, i know i like to recieve comments because i have a lot to learn, so for that reason i give as many comments as i can because i know there are other people out there like me, but its challenging to comment on 600 images, and i would try to focus my comments on the ones that had less.... how many times does a person need to hear that their shot is obviously out of focus
