Your all too high. My guess is high 300's to low 400's

Ahh, I see. I have an ex gf who lives down near Binghamton in Nichols. I am 30 mins or so from C-land myself. We should do a trip next summer with some of us upstaters. I think there's a few more. Mbardeen comes through sometimes. A few others with Syr/upstate/Ithaca connections. :) Would be fun!

While I applaud the succuess of DPC, the time has come to come up with some way of limiting the number of entries. As I write this, we are over 610 entries in B/W - will the number of entries itself be the deceleration of active members, or will it take something else. Someone suggested (on another thread) that maybe there should be two challenges at the same time - but you could only enter one, and only vote on the one you didn't enter. The more I think about this, the better an idea it seems to be.
As one who tends to make a good deal more comments than I receive (3:1), I find the task of commenting on a meaningful number of a 650 entry challenge not only daunting, but unrealistic.

What to do?

Also two other points to consider: first, an average time a person spends on each photo is likely going to decrease with the number of photos entered, with impulsive judgement to go with that; second, in the end the entries are going to differ by .005 of a point, which makes not a whole lot of sense, at least to me...

I'm kinda thinking about pulling out of b/w.

its at 622 now and i've been wrong so many times i think i'll just say that i bet it will be what ever it ends up as.

I'm with yurasocolov thinking to pull out, 626 (and counting) is insane to think somneone could vote on all but I can't even think of a fair judgement from anyone...

I voted on all the last one, and I plan on voting on all the B/W. The problem I have is that I noticed by the end that as I saw my 14th shot of someone's eye, I probably rated it lower than what it should have gotten. I do try to not vote on 20 or more in a single sitting, but I needed to get done. I do hope to be as fair as possible.

This is the one suggestion above all I hope gets implemented. Just an opinion. But I am overwhelmed by the numbers entering the open challenges right now.

Of course, it might happen that one topic gets 527 submissions, and the other one gets 74...
