Among the countless US army soldiers who lost theyr life in iraq yesterday died one guy who is Romanian fighting in the US army. I think he had double citizenship or maybe only US citizenship I'm not sure. His brother who lives here in romania wanned to attend the funerals, but guess what? US embasy scheduled him for a USA visa in december??? how cool is that?

If you actually want some action, I suggest submitting your comments as Letters-to-the-Editor to the NY Times and the Washington Post rather than DPC ... we may support you, but we are no more influential with our lame-duck Secretary of State than you are ... |

I know I didn't want any action here on DPC I just thought it's an interesting fact for others to know how some things are going on, and I guess I can say how thankful USA government, because the embasy if I'm not wrong is a part of the government, can be for some of those who die in the wars... "We don't care your brother died in the war, you stay in line for the visa like anybody else, you are scheduled for december."

Has he tried contacting the embassy directly? I'd expect he might get some action if he did so.

After doing some brief research, it appears the standard procedure for obtaining a visa is that the applicant must first book the first available visa appointment (in this case, December) and then request early appointment.
It appears the first part of the process resulted in a December visa, he must now follow through with the second.
