I should have done more researching before I decided to go with this company (they make coffee-table books). I placed the order on the 1st of November and got an instant confirmation that the order was going to be shipped in 5 to 6 business days. Then I waited and waited for almost 2 weeks, and never heard anything from them. I emailed and asked about the status of my ordered and got no response. 2 days later I was so upset so I emailed again to request a cancellation on the order - again, no response. The next business day I called the customer service number; after being on hold for 5 minutes I was forwarded to a general mailbox. So I left a message stating that I wanted to cancel the order. Later that day a girl returned my call. She was apologetic but did not let me cancel the order. She said they were too busy because they had too many orders - too busy to keep their customers updated? I asked for any form of compensation (discount, no shipping) but she declined. She did not even know for sure when my order will be processed! So now I just keep waiting. A friend of mine ordered the same type of book from Shutterfly after I placed my order with Mypublisher, and she already received her beautiful book. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Are you based in same country as the company?
If so I'd report them to trading standards and threaten them with legal action if they don't refund your money immediately.
If they confirmed that order would be shipped in a certain time frame that should be part of the contract you entered into with them.

You don't say where you are located, but if I were in your situation, I would call my credit card company, explain what happened and tell them that you tried to cancel your order, but were not allowed to and emphasize that the company has NOT lived up to its promises (delivery date). They should be able to refund the charge back to your card and cancel your order that way. I have done this in the past with companies that pull this kind of stuff where they overpromise and underdeliver.

I read about this free deal thing they had and thought I would try it. I only ordered there small book and received it the other day. The images are horrible and about five of them have heads croped off. I read the part that says that prints will look the same as in the software and wrote them a message stating the problem. They told me to check again and that I must have made a mistake. Anyway I checked again and made no mistake. The ball is in there court now. Good thing it was free.

Oh yes credit card company is a much better idea.
Contest payment and then let the vendor try and argue with the credit card company that they are entitled to the money!!!

Well I should do something because I do live in the US where they base. It's just so amazing that they're still in business with that kind of service.

you paid by credit card right?

so call your credit card company and cancel it through them.

If by paypal, go to your bank and deny charges.

It's really funny that later yesterday after I talked to a customer service person (who didn't know for sure when my order was going to be processed), order completion notice and shipping confirmation came pouring in to my email account. Hmmm... Looks like they printed and forgot to ship the order? So my book is supposed to be on the way to me now. At this point I'll just accept the order, it's a xmas gift for my friend anyway. I will make sure that my bad experience with them are heard on line as much as possible to help others avoid this company.

By the way, yesterday I ordered another photo book from Shutterfly and this morning I received an email stating that my order had been completed and shipped! Wow, that's what I called great service - especially in this competitive digital market.
