I'm trying to set up a blank page with 2 pics on it for printing. I need one image on the top left of the page, other on t'other side at the bottom. Do you think I can do it!!!!!! Am using greenstreet publishing which came with the computer cos Word was getting too frustrating. I need a 5mm edge clear all round. Greenstreet only has cm and inches..... *pull hair out* how many mm is there in an inch. There has to be an easier way of doing this.

I'm trying to make cards. 2 images on an A4. Printer wants them in pdf format and if I set them up ready for printing it'll be cheaper.......but seriously doubt I'll have any hair left by then.

1 inch equals 25.4 mm or 2.54 cm

Don't know anything about your program, but there are 10 mm per 1 cm, so 5 mm equals .5 cm. There are 2.54 cm per 1 inch, or 25.4 mm per 1 inch, so 5 mm is .019 inches.

:) :) Thankyou!! That explains why my border takes up nearly half the page

I got into this problem a few times before, and I noticed that if you google it up it gets you to a preety cool calculator for all these american measurements: feets, inches, legs, toes and whatever... try that out it is a great tool.

thanks Cristi....am about to give up on this whole idea it's sooooo frustrating. Should be simple to put 2 images on a page, one at the top, one at the bottom, print them, cut them out and voila a card! Not!!!!! Can't work out how to get the images in the right place grrrrrr! And muttering very rude words to the computer didn't work either!

Am having another attempt with MS word....don't have Excel or Powerpoint.

do how I do. Make a blank page in photoshop but set the measurement in inches or whatever you want. Then guide yourself after that.

True enough. A little known feature of Google is that it has a calculator and does unit conversions. If you type "5 mm in inches" as a Google search, it will return the answer.

10 mm = 1 cm

5mm = 0.5 cm

Also don't forget that A4 is not the same as letter.

Yes, a very useful feature. I often use it for C<->F and ml<->oz conversions.
