I'm sorry, I don't get it. I do not understand how this fits into the category of photography. I don't understand why this won a blue ribbon in a photography contest. This is why I don't like the expert editing rule set. I didn't vote in this challenge but if I did, you would have recieved another one. Call me old school but please don't hate me because I am. This photograph lacks many of the things that one here at DPC starts to look for in a photograph but it's been a long time since a photograph here has touched me the way this one has. Technically there's much lacking here. You have such vivid colors potentially but you didn't seem to tweek them much. You have no subject and the leading line kinda disappears somewhere right in the middle. You break so many rules in this shot. But...

You have made me feel young. This is the way a child might see the world...

You have made me warm. This is the way things look when spring is starting to catch hold of the earth and the cold starts to melt away a little...

You have made me smell things that aren't here yet, the new flowers, the breeze, the earthen path...

You have made me want to get my camera out and look stupid in the eyes of others again...

If you can shoot this shot at a different time of day or year when the light isn't coming from behind you but rather from the side, this could be an extrememly cool shot! There is so much texture there that could make a boring shot interesting if you can bring it out...
