Peek-a-Boo!by trainComment: From the Critique Club
I don't know what I can say about this shot that the score and placing don't already say!
The colors here are nice and vivid. Lovely yellows and complimentary greens! A nice amount of negative space in the upper right corner.
At first I didn't like the crop. I thought at first that the insect (the real subject of the shot) should be more prominent, but the more I look at it the more I wouldn't want it changed even the slightest. I would even go as far as to say that the cropping is brilliant!
Now that challenge is over the only things that I would change is to get rid of the dull green behind the mantis and the dull grey in the bottom right corner. Both are slightly distracting, but looking at your score I would have to say that neither are too distracting...
This shot does prove my point that there is at least a small element of chance in great photography. One awesome shot!!!
Yours

Temptationby KINGComment: I can handle the person in the shot (though I like the building better by itself), but the branch on the right is way distracting. It looks unreal. Did you use an on board flash? Also the church is a touch tilted in frame. Otherwise a very nice shot!

Surprising Myselfby ShelleyComment: From the Critique Club
Things I like: The look of surprise is good on the face looking at the camera. I also like how the faces are well aligned (in particular the mouth).
Things I don't like: The overall image is too dark. I do not have a suggestion on how to fix this. I think the two faces should be reversed as far as sharpness goes. The face looking at the camera should be the sharp one and the one looking across the image could stand to be the blurrier one. I think that this would be an improvement. I also think that the hands on the face might be compositionally nicer if on the other face. I normally like the use of negative space (black or darkness especially) however because of the underexposure of the subjects, this becomes a real distraction in this example.
I have no experience with shots like this as my camera is to basic to do anything similar. I like what you are attempting but this needs more work. If you are willing to keep trying I would be very interested in seeing reshoots of this concept!

Money Makes the World Go Roundby GPComment: I don't know what you're trying to say with this image. I can't seem to make the title fit it. It's a nice composition though. You do have some exposure issues and it's a little grainy.

Money ??? - With this Hobby ???by brettdComment: I was gonna ask what camera you're using if your 10D sitting there with all your lenses. I was then gonna say you shoulda used your 10D because the focus is off a little bit but then I saw the reflections. Is this a store display? Ya had me for a second!!! Nice one

The Money Storeby tolovemoonComment: You have some serious perspective problems here. You also have some lens glare in the foreground.

The Bankers Houseby vtruanComment: Nice colors and focus and DOF. Great composition. Not much for staying power though. I also thing that it's kind of a stretch fitting the competition with the title...
