Hanging Aroundby jakebluComment: I see to planes here... one in focus, one not. I can't tell if you have achieved shallow DOF or not!

A seat in the sunby geewhyComment: Too abstract. I can't tell what is supposed to be in focus or even what really IS in focus...

Nickel-Woundby ArcyComment: In this instance I think that your DOF is just a touch TOO shallow. I believe that having just a touch more of the strings in focus would give more texture and give emphasis to the perspective lines giving the perception of an even shallower DOF...

The Melaphoneby JaguarComment: IMHO the focal point is in the wrong place for this shot. The horn is a distraction. If the focus was on the valves and the sheet music was OOF it would make more sense to this viewer!

Bodyscapeby tariqueComment: In this case, I believe that the shallow DOF actually detracts from the shot, at least as executed. I am distracted by the lack of definition between the hand and the legs. I (IMHO) think that if the focal point was a touch further back (so the whole hand was in focus creating a more distinct line) or the DOF was just a smudge (is that a legal tech term?) deeper that this would give the shot TONS of more impact! I would also have to say that I would like to see this shot in the original colors as this isn't contrasty enough to make a great B/W (again IMHO).
If it is possible, I would love to see this re-shot as I think as a composition, this is one of the best that I've seen so far for this challenge.

Leo's Profileby lmatrangaComment: I don't know if this has shallow DOF or not. The soft focus/high key effect is not the best choice for this type of challenge IMHO.

Peepholeby MonaComment: I'm sorry but I don't know what I'm looking at and that becomes a distraction.

Ice Stormby GolferDDSComment: That was one hell of a storm to freeze everything at such an extreme angle! Just kidding nice shot.
