In A World of His Own by BrianRComment: Brian
Have seen this photo now on 5 different monitors (after I voted)
On my monitor, and four others, it appeared the same, it looks overexposed.
On one monitor, the detail in the ice (was sand) came out, it didn't look overexposed, and the photo looked brilliant.
Which means
a) I need a new monitor
b) You probably didn't get the score it deserved as I think many people have the same problem that I had (the other monitors belonged to people ont his site who vote as well, so its not just me that has a shitty monitor)
Just wanted to let you know. Had I voted using the one monitor that showed the detail, this would have then been in the top few for me in the challenge. |

...said he went to a meetingby CamabsComment: Like the black and white. The slight softness works for the mood of this photo. Not sure why you cropped just the very bottom of his feet out though. Leaving them in with a little more sand would have been better for me. |

Rocking Out At A Concertby SpongetoastComment: There are a number of marks in the black which I believe could have been cloned out. The angle of the photo is good, but the subject does not really make for a good shot. The uneven lights in these signs always make it hard to get a great shot. |

Painted Green and Acting Like a Statueby brumer0Comment: I ma not sure the long shutter speed works here. It makes the people less visible (including the one in front). I presume this was on a tripod, but the Church doesn't look sharp. Did you press the shutter, use a cable release/remote or use the timer. For long shutter speeds, pressing the button moves the camera, hence the cable release or use the timer to avoid this. Just speculating as to why its not sharp, I might be wrong though.......
The colours are not really inspiring. Making the sky look really stormy in PP could have helped the image |

...he's setting fire to Villages.by david_cComment: Nice Idea. Not sure though of the Red background, as it then means the flame does not stand out as much. Blue may have worked better as the burnt areas would still be noticable |

Art gave a low score to the wrong guy!by JCrest01Comment: I like the idea. However I feel the scene is too cluttered. I don't think all those bushes were necessary. Simplifying this photo would have had a better effect.
Noise in the background is a problem.
This type of shot didn't need to be taken IN the tank. Having Art as he is, with the rock to one side, a plant to the other and two fishes would have given us the same impression, without the clutter, and scored better. Taking it outsside the tank would also make the lighting and PP easier, and the noise would have been easily avoided. |

Caught Catnappingby posthumousComment: The overall darkness of this photo, and combined with the way Art is inserted into the photo does not work for me |

Graffiti Art by photobyjewellComment: Interesting Graffiti. The bright area to the right is a distraction. I would have been tempted to use a shallower depth of field and just shot the graffiti (cropped out the bright area) and had the red face the main subject, and the rest fading out of focus. |
