Moment in time by BrinComment: Just having a quick look at all thumbnails and this jumped out. Exactly what I thought should be presented in the challenge. Subject is naturally backlit, photo exposed for the sky and surrounding landscape, and the subject then correctly exposed through the use of fill flash. Perfect match for the challenge.
Might be a little too closely cropped both top and bottom, but that is just me.
Great Submission. Really Stood out |

wby bruskiComment: All straight lines, nice pattern, however that photo seems too bright for me. There are too many areas of very bright light, with little dark to balance it |

Bridge Linesby tigmoComment: Love the simple symetry of this. However, the dark lower right corner does detract from the overall photo |

Red Roof.by GenrOneComment: Simple, meets the challenge well, the shadows give the subject something of interest,. You have made a boring tiled roof look somewhat interesting. the lighting is spot on |

Straight and Tallby njsabsComment: "Details: Capture an image that includes only straight lines." So DNMC
Ignoring that, I don't know what you were trying to do here. I am niot sure whether you have PP's out all of the detail, or if you didn't capture it in the first place. Assuming that you didn't PP it all out, then wehen you take night shots like this, you need to use a longer exposure to get the detail from the less lit areas. You should be able to see the rest of the detail, rather than just the points of light. Long Exposure, with camera on a tripod, and use a remote to open the shutter (or use your timer) o avoid camera shake.
If you PP's out the detail, then I don't see why, and the effect you have doesn't work for me. |

Landingby DistantColoursComment: Good use of only straight lines to create an interesting photo. Lacks a real subject to get the maximum votes, as it is just a landing. Difficult lighting conditions as had you tried to not overexpose the upper areas, the lower left parts would have been very dark. Good effort |

Awaiting the Fashion Showby superwoman6233Comment: "take a Photo that contains only straight lines"
Yes, its a straight row of chairs, however, the details were specific that ONLY straight lines should be visible. There are curves everywhere through this. Sorry, but that was the challenge.
The depth of field is good. I might have taken from higher, giving more of the red/black sequence, and removuing the red thing at the back. |
