I think that you could have composed a much better shot. Looks like you had a great subject for the challenge but maybe you were afraid to really get in there to get that perfect shot. The composition is lacking IMO.
Dont be afraid to get up in the moment. I love the kitten on him. I think it would have been better had you gone in front of him. Maybe you could have talked to him for a few minutes and then composed the shot.

You need some major work on this shot. You captured a great moment but it's overexposed. Work with the levels/curves and contrast and you will have a great shot.
