For anyone wondering I just looked up on google all the prices of the lenses and bodies (including the ones used to take the photo) and I added it up. The grand total comes out to be just over 20,000 dollars. Yes, this is all from google so some may be a bit off with the pricing but it was a general idea.

WOW!

hahaha... yea... I have a problem =)

But... remember... a Lens a Day Keeps the Doctor Away! =P

.

And what is it that you do to be able to pay for all this? And where do I sign to join you? Haha!

hahaha...... no comment

I can't believe how tack sharp this is! ... I was just staring at the detail for the past 5 minutes... LOVE it!

I am a really technical person and I HATE pics shot from a telephoto lens that are not sharp... yours is TACK on!

Nice work!!!

=)

I have to be honest here. I rated this picture low because when I first saw it I disliked it immediately. The subject looked so greedy I was turned off the whole picture. When I saw that it had won, I looked at it with new eyes and started to appreciate the technical expertise required to shoot the photo and began to realize the power of the photo. It conveys it's subject extremely well, so well that I still don't like the photo! If I can ever take a photo that is half as powerful as this I will be happy.
Great job Shutter-For-Hire.

Thanks! I just checked out your waterfall pics... they are amazing! That's going to be my summer project... mastering the waterfall... look for me on the front page again =P

hmmm... favorite??? well, It's a really tough call... I really do like to shoot wide so I'd lean towards the Tokina 12-24 used for the shoot, but all the lenses serve their purpose... I use the 35mm f/2D for all portrait sessions, the macro lenses for.. well macro shots,... ect...

They do all get used on occasion... =)

I also have a 400mm Tokina lens, but that one was too big...

Thanks!

Thanks!

I'm going to try and enter at least one pic every other week to stay in the game... I started a new job and it took me a while to get settled... now I have the time to focus on challenges again...

I hope to be in the running regularly again... probably not on the front page too often, but I'll do my best =)

But it also draws your attention down to the action in the shot. I wouldn't have thought of putting umbrellas there, but it totally adds to the picture.

yea, I purposely aimed them inwards to give kind of animate them with the same expression as my face... as thought they were looking over my shoulders... I had always wanted to incorporate the umbrellas into a picture and I wasn't sure if they would cause any lens flare, and apparently they don't =)

thanks!
