A tool of the pastby SteveZComment: The angle of this shot very much enhances the appreciation for the handiwork that went into the making of this relic. |

Tracksby gpsdudeComment: I like the composition but I'm not certain it speaks desolation for me. |

West Pier, Brightonby robsmithComment: Nice photo. The pebbles in the foreground contrasted with the very still water makes this interesting to look at. The ruins of the pier fit the challenge well. |

Lonesomeby ArtifactsComment: I very much like the choice of bw here. It really adds to the feeling of a desolate landscape. |

Death of a Forestby channeledComment: This picture is well done on its own; however, the title is so appropriate and adds much to the presentation in my opinion. (I read all the commentary on titles today) The way you used the light to enhance the forward image is impressive. |

Aloneby didnthaveacameraComment: Too much beauty here to be desolate but I will go with posture of your subject and score high because this is a great picture. I aspire to the challenge that this kind of photo offers to me. |

Foggy field at 2amby smashingComment: This is a beautiful shot and a rare catch with the moon and night mist. I really like it but I can't feel desolation - too inspiring for that for me. Tough decision about leaving in the speed sign because I agree with the greater need for part of that tree on the edge. Points for a good picture. |

Just a Matter of Timeby alanfreedComment: BW good choice for this. I like the angle of the shot and I especially like the double track because I think it really adds to the theme of the photo. |
