Threading the Needleby barrygComment: Needles and thread. I feel that the compositional aspect of this shot needs some more thought. The top layer has been cut off for no reason I can see. The black foreground gives the needle some space, but it seems too set-up for my tastes. 4 |

Battered Ball, Worn-out Gloveby HRoxasComment: This has a very classy feel to it. The nostalgic colours, the oldness of the leather, the black backing. I think, for me, the best thing here is the tonal range. Very nice. Just one little gripe, for me, the challenge wasn't to shoot things which are commonly used together, but to create interesting combinations. 9 |

Preludeby wfullerComment: Nice, romantic effect here. The exposure on the cheese is fine, but you needed to adjust your levels to bring the bottle and glass into the frame. I'm not sure about the stem being cut off, or the actual positioning of the rose head. 4 |
