This leaf almost looks like a wood grain in the b&w. So if that was your intent, well done.

The Patterns of Nature
by Limescope

Comment:
Interesting. This has some fantastic elements, not the least being ing the coloring of that butterfly. I know dealing with nature is tough, especially when you bring wildlife into the equation so my suggestions might not have worked here, but who knows when you might get another chance...

The darkness behind the butterfly gives the illusion that the right wing is just there. It's hard to define the insect's black body against the shadows and darkness of the background. The colors of the flowers, while great, are not the best behind the red "hearts" in the wings.

Again, not things you can control, but things to think about for any future shots.

Use as much size as possible. The impact is lost because the pic is so small.

With all of the colors to choose for a backdrop, black might not be the most dramatic. A blue or soft yellow might accent the colors in the shell better.

Well designed shot. Is this inside of an aquarium? There is a reflection in the lower right that I don't think you meant to be there.

Interesting shot. You might consider a brown background so as to avoid any pesky comments about composition and framing or dead space.

Thank you for the shot of the shell texture. It is a nice tight shot.

Seeing Red

This is rather interesting. The lighting is so subdued, then you have this harsh bulb right at the bottom...which is the first thing I see. Perhaps use a red bulb next time, it would give the illusion of self illumination.

lollipops poping out

This one could have been stunning with a bit of time and prep work. Imagine that every lollipop were turned so the name of the candy was lined up. Imagine, if the flavors/colors of the wrappers were organized into a pattern. Then you would have the following:
1) Horizontal pattern
2) Vertical pattern
3) Name linear sameness (just another pattern)
4) Color cohesion

Four patterns all in one shot! Of course, then people might say it was too boring and you should randomnize things. Can't win, can you?!

My quibble is with choice of focal point. It seems to be behind the eye, and slightly below the blue scales. I would suggest bringing more of the face into the focus, that's where most of the interesting patterns exist.
