This picture certainly meets the challenges criteria. I also like the fact that it appears there are some mountains in the background, but the pollution is blocking my view. Nice shot.

Enjoyed your humorous interpretation of the challenge. In the future I would move the lighting around eliminate some of the harsh shadowing and washout. (particularly on the arm)

This shot certainly meets the criteria of the challenge. I might have tried to crop it a bit tighter. I know it's important to get the boat, but even in this shot you can't see the whole thing. I think with a tighter crop more focus from the viewer would fall on the subject. As I look at the photo I can't help but look to the left because of the letter on the boat.

I like your interpretation, but I wish the crop wasn't so close to the eyes or at least they were equal on each side. On a positive side the eye color is amazing.
