Topaz adjust? What is that...? I see you are playing around with out and indoors...It's interesting because as in this picture it creates two separate moods... I'll keep an eye out for that... : )

Great! The vase is fantastic as well as well as the light shining through the glass and on the wall...

Cool...I like the flimsiness of the wires and lights and the confusion of the building in the background.

Well done.

I sympathize...

A photo that tells us we need to know more. I don't mean just facts or story; awareness perhaps. Or not perhaps. The discomfort in this photo, in trying to piece it together and make it settle down, is its strength.

ubique
It's topical.

I desperately want to lop off the heads (metaphorically speaking) of the two empathistas at top left. Then we'd have had no face visible but the iconic one on the placard. That, supported by just the glimpse of the kaffiyeh, would have made it a Magnum-standard documentary/art photograph. In fact the Magnum photographer Paolo Pellegrin did a remarkably thoughtful photo essay about death, and in a couple of searing images (here and here) he depicted death on the faces of the bystanders only, and did not show the actual dead person. Sort of the reverse of what you almost did here.

This is a superb image, just drained of a little of its command by the couple of ordinary blokes in the corner. Please bear in mind, this is not meant as one of those idiotic "how you could have done it better" comments. You got what you got, and it is what it is. And what it is is nearly a transcendent photograph.

part photo, part art installation. you get the feeling that the woman in the picture is being ignored, even by the man who is holding her. but at the same time there is something about her that is essential to him. it is like he is holding his own heart in his hands, even though he is ignoring it... the way you get into a cab and never look twice at your soulmate as she's leaving it.

The lines in this shot are fantastic. I have no idea what this is or who is protesting what but this is a very compelling image.

This almost feels like a "stolen" shot--by which I mean a surreptitious candid. That feel adds to the tension/drama of the image, as if we are seeing something we are not supposed to see, as if the photographer was at risk in the taking....

undieyatch
Hand held placard - visually effective graphic within a graphic, each with visible subjects conveying for a reason unknown, a congruous serious facial expression.

Wow. Just look at all those fingers--holding the sign, in the image on the sign, and the open hand of the guy on the right. Let's hold on for dear life. There is just enough context to make it clear that this is a political rally.

The title tells it all! Fantastic piece of work. Outstanding the way the sign's internal diagonal leads us directly to the background facve that, in the end, becomes the tiny focus of this remarkable image.

Thanks all. I agree with ubique...but it was hard to do as the shadows were of people marching and the crossing was very quickly over run with people...
