Passing through the city jungleby tamatamaComment: I like the figure on the left with the cane and backlighting. I think you could have cropped out the guy on the right so our attention would focus on the guy on the left. |

waitin' for pub o'clockby MichaelCComment: Great eye contact! I like how the viewer can get a glimpse of the environment via the reflection in the glass. I think I'd like it better if you had moved in a couple steps and gotten as close as possible without losing the reflections. |

Les anonymesby GabrielComment: Excellent composition and use of shallow DoF (or is it a lens baby?). Very striking image, works well in B&W. 8 |

She promised...by PrashComment: Interesting subject but I wish you would have approached him and asked for a close up. |

Oxfam Night-time Street Exhibitionby dainmcgowanComment: I like this a lot but (sorry to say) I think it's mostly because of the cool images in the background, which I assume aren't your images. I like your lighting and how you silhoutted them against the bright images. I especially like the pose of the person on the left... something about it adds interest. 7 |

Bad luckby ZigomarComment: Great portrait of an interesting subject! Very intimate and up close. I like it that we can see his eyes, teeth, whiskers and every detail on his face. Two things that could improve it... 1) direct eye contact with his left eye and 2) just a touch more lights... it seems to be overall very neutral gray.
Excellent shot. My favorite so far. 9 |

Rainy Dayby tfarrell23Comment: Very dramatic... I assume you brought out the lights and darks via post processing. It has a glow to it that I like. |

Real Deal in Chinatownby anthonyczajaComment: This is one of my favorites so far. It's interesting to see the group gathered around the game. Shallow DoF helps to focus on the card player. My favorite thing about it is the eye contact from the one individual. That connects the viewer to the scene. |

Stroll on the beachby sfmorrisComment: I like the cloud of gulls. The composition of the man in the background seems a little too close to the main subject. I can't decide if he's relevant or not. Black and white on the beach is good to force the viewer out of seeing it as a typical beach shot. |
