Good shot. I think if you had gone for a unique prespective this would have been an amazing shot, like laying on the grass or something in the foreground to give it some field of depth.
Also a polarizer would have added some sweet contrast to the sunburst.

Really, you just happend to be at the River Ganga this week? Sweet picture. I usually have to discharge a gun to get flying birds in my pics.
It looks like the camera focused close rather than infinity looking at the water, direct sun tends to throw off the focal point.
Also If you use a UV filter you can clean up that haze and get better color tone, just a thought.
